What is a TENS Unit?

TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and is a non-invasive drug free treatment that uses low voltage electrical currents to help relieve pain.

The gentle current is sent from the small unit, via the wires, to the electrode pads that are attached to your skin near where you feel the pain. You will feel like a tingling sensation on your skin.

What is EMS?

Electrical Muscle Stimulation or EMS is an advanced muscle exercise technique that is effective for strengthening injured or weak muscles with minimal stress.

Bettercaremarket recommends to start on a low intensity and increase the intensity gradually until you feel the most soothing and relaxing massage. You should feel a bearable tingling sensation. Some users may find the tingling sensation unpleasant.

The massage modes simulate the techniques used by physiotherapists, including deep kneading, gentle chopping and soothing rubbing. This helps customize your treatment based on your specific needs and goals.

3 different modes of the TENS Pain Therapy System 

The Tens Pain Therapy System operates in 3 modes:

Massage Mode 1: This mode will feel like thumb kneading, palm kneading, finger tapping, and percussion. 

Massage Mode 2: This mode will feel like pounding, chopping, cupping and oscillating squeezing. 

Massage Mode 3: This mode will feel like gentle fingers lightly rubbing the muscles, then lightly squeezing the muscles, followed by a stronger squeeze which will help the muscles to relax.  

Anti-assimilation technology is programmed into the device, so that your body never gets over-stimulated by just one type of frequency pattern. This is essential so your body never adapts to the same massage frequency and thus providing long lasting effective pain relief.
