What is the NDIS?
The NDIS is an abbreviation for National Disability Insurance Scheme and is an Australian Government program that funds supports for Australians with significant and permanent disabilities. Managed by The NDIA, the NDIS provides participants with funding tailored to their personal needs and goals.
This funding empowers people with disability to access essential products and services that improve daily living, independence, and wellbeing.
Who is the NDIS for?
The NDIS is for people living with a permanent and significant disability who require support. Each participant receives an individual plan and budget which can cober:
- Daily living aids for cooking, eating, dressing, and home tasks
- Mobility aids and walking aids such as walkers, wheelchairs, walking sticks and crutches for independence at home and out and about
- Incontinence products and bathroom aids for personal care and dignified care

BetterCareMarket and the NDIS created BetterCareNDIS
Since June 2020, BetterCareMarket has been officially registered under BettercareNDIS as a certified NDIS provider.
Our registration number is 4050069517 and we are approved to deliver: Low Risk Consumables and Assistive Technology (Level 1-3). NDIS Consumables belong to the Core Supports Category and cover products that you use on a daily basis:

As a registered NDIS provider, BetterCareMarket is there for you at the start of your journey.
Our role is to simplify access to NDIS funding. We work directly with the NDIA and Plan Managers helping participants manage claims and approvals so they can focus on choosing the right products to support their goals.

How can you claim your NDIS-allocated funds from Bettercarendis?
There are 3 ways to purchase from bettercaremarket website using NDIS funds
Self-managed: you order with us and either pay upfront at checkout and then submit your claim to the NDIA yourself. For this process, you can just order with us online, without completing our Service Agreement. Use the invoice that we have provided, as proof of purchase for the NDIA. Or you can place the order and wait for the NDIA to pay you first, before you pay us. Please register and create your Bettercaremarket customer account
Plan managed: register with Bettercaremarket first, then place your order for the products you would like to order online and checkout using 'NDIS Checkout' option. We will forward the invoice to your plan manager for approval. Once approved, the payment will be transferred to us. We will then process your order and send it out. We will keep you informed each step of the way.
NDIA managed: you order your products on the Bettercaremarket website and checkout using the NDIS Checkout option. You will have to fill in your NDIS details, register, and create your bettercaremarket customer account . We will submit the claim on your behalf directly to the NDIA. Once it is approved, we will inform you by email, process the order, and send it to you.
NDIS Consumables and Products Available at Bettercaremarket
Our online store makes it easy to shop for everyday essentials covered by your NDIS plan.
NDIS consumables
On the Bettercaremarket website, many NDIS Consumables and Assistive Technology Products are available to you. Consumables cover purchases of everyday products or items required to manage your personal disability-related needs and don’t cost much. The Consumables budget is flexible. Once an amount is allocated to your plan, you can choose how you are going to spend it, providing it is necessary and reasonable for your condition or disability.
- Household aids: jar openers, kitchen trolleys, food preparation products, reachers, modified eating aids,
- Personal care and safety: shower commodes, shower chairs, bath aids, toileting aids, grab bars
- Mobility equipment: rollators, walking frames, wheelchairs, walking sticks, crutches
- Recreation & Therapy Aids: diabetes kits, sensory tools, special garden tools
In most cases, NDIS participants can pay registered NDIS providers directly. Items under $1,500 will generally not require a quote. For items over $1,500, the NDIA demands two quotes.
