What are the Easi-Grip Scissors from Peta?

The Easi-Grip® Scissors from Peta is a range of ultralight self-opening adapted scissors. The scissors are ideal for people with arthritis or thumb injuries. The 4.5cm stainless steel blades are available with round tips or pointed tips.

What are adaptive scissors?

Adaptive scissors are designed to help adults and children that need some extra support master the skill of cutting. The Easi-Grip scissors require less strength to work. They help ensure that young children gain skill, strength, and confidence while they learn to cut.

Who benefits from the Easi-grip Scissors by Peta?

The Easi-Grop Scissors have been developed for those with special needs or physical impairments. They are an ideal option for adults with weak hands who have grip difficulties and are unable to use conventional style scissors. Ideal for arthritis sufferers, those with Parkinson’s disease, repetitive strain injury, carpal tunnel syndrome, spasticity or low tone.

As the Easi-Grip scissors require less strength to work, they are perfect for children too.

How do these scissors work?

These scissors are fitted with a continuous loop handle (rather than the individual finger and thumb loops) that reopens automatically when the pressure is released: a gentle squeeze with one finger or palm will do the trick. The fact that they are lightweight reduces fatigue in the hand of the user. The assistive device has a spring that reopens the scissors after each cutting action. It cuts through paper effortlessly. The scissors come with a blade guard that slides over the blades for safety.

Grip Scissors options:

The Easi-Grip scissors come in 3 versions. The Easi-Grip® version for children features a round tip.
