Instructions to use the transfer equipment:

Loop the Leg Lifter over the foot. The semi-rigid insert allows the user to do this without the need for bending forward and touching their toes.
Then, while holding the handle, the user can support the movement of the leg and the foot, in getting in and out of bed.
The Leg Lifter can also be used to support both legs in one movement. Simply loop the Leg Lifter over one foot, and then cross that leg under the other.

damaged the product by misusing it

used the product for a very long time and the problem is as a result of usual wear and tear
