What is the Airzone Peak Flow Meter?

The AirZone Peak Flow Meter by Able Health is a portable expiratory peak flow meter that measures how well air flows from your lungs in one blow.

In other words, the monitor measures your ability to push air out of your lungs. The device is the smallest and most affordable in its range, but it is nevertheless accurate.

What is a peak flow meter?

Peak flow measurements can help you and your doctor make decisions about your treatment and adjust your medication. The measurements will also alert you when your asthma symptoms are worsening, even preventing an asthma attack.

The peak flow meter warns you when your airways are narrowing, often hours or even days before you have any asthma symptoms. A peak flow meter is also used to help you:

  • Learn your asthma triggers
  • Know if your asthma action plan is working
  • Decide when to adjust your asthma medicine
  • Know when to seek emergency care

Who benefits from a peak flow meter?

This respiratory device is specifically designed for those with an obstructive lung condition and might be part of a personal action plan.

Asthma patients: Peak flow meters are very helpful for adults and children with moderate to severe asthma that require daily asthma medications. Asthma sometimes changes gradually. Your peak flow may show those changes before you feel them.

COPD patients:  Checking your peak flow can also be helpful for COPD-sufferers, as they may develop narrowing of the airways or inflammation. By monitoring their peak flow rate, patients with COPD can recognise drops in airflow. A significant decrease in the peak flow is a 'red flag' and means their condition is not under control.

Why would you purchase the Airzone Peak Flow Meter?

The Airzone peak flow meter is a pocket sized device for adults and children, featuring a special zoning system that enables you to see if your lung condition is in control or potentially worsening. It is available with ATS or EU scales.

The Airzone measures peak expiratory flow or PEF between 60-720 L/min ATS and 60-720 L/min EU. The monitor comes with a nifty stand for easy use. The Airzone Peak Flow Meter is individually calibrated to ensure accuracy and reliability.
