Heel Protector for Pressure Sores

The Pressure Relief Heel Protector has been specially designed for the prevention and care of heel pressure sores. The breathable Heel Protector works by completely offloading pressure on the heel and redistributing the pressure to the lower leg.

The design of the Heel Protector - with the toe part open - allows for airflow ensuring the sores can heal.

The Heel Protector comes with faux sheepskin which is not susceptible to mould and bacteria growth. It helps reduce friction and shear on vulnerable heels. This helps minimising discomfort and irritation.

The material is also absorbent, keeping the skin of the foot dry and free of perspiration and odour.

Our heel protector is supplied as a pair.

Features:

  • Designed for the prevention and treatment of heel pressure ulcers

Who should use a heel protector?

In long-term acute care facilities - where patients are treated for serious medical conditions for a longer period of time - heel ulcers are the most common type of pressure sore. The skin covering the heel bears most of the pressure from the weight of the foot and the lower leg.

The pressure relief heel protector is recommended for patients at risk of these skin breakdowns, friction burns and impact.

It is designed to prevent feet and heels from injuries and bedsores.

Sizing of the Heel Protector

The Heel Protector is available in a single size that should fit most people thanks to the adjustable Velcro strap.
