The Glucology Smart Body Scale gives you reliable insights into your body composition. When used with the free Glucology  app, the scale helps you track trends over time of your body health, based on 13 body metrics:

• Weight: your overall weight from 5 to 180kg
• BMI: Body mass index calculated based on height and weight
• Body fat: the % of your body that is made up of fat
• BMR: Basal Metabolic Rate
• Obesity: a classification based on your BMI
• V-Fat: visceral fat, fat around your abdomen
• Water: the amount of water in your body
• Muscle: the % of muscle mass in your body
• Bone: the % of bone mass in your body
• Protein mass:  the amount of protein in your body
• Age: your body’s biological aged based on your composition
• LBM: Lean Body Mass which includes muscle, bone, water, and othet non-fat mass

What makes this Smart Body Scale different from most digital scales is the readings of Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR) and Protein Mass.

What Is BIA?

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) is a commonly used method in body weight scales for analysing body composition at home. Instead of just showing your weight, they give you a relative percentage of fat, muscle, bone, water, and protein in your body.

This is done with unnoticeable low-voltage electrical signals that are passed through your feet to your body.

Lean tissues like muscles are high in water content and consist of over 70% fluid, while fat is less conductive and low in fluid. Using algorithms and measuring the impedance, the body scale can calculate your body composition factors in particular body fat, muscle mass, body water and protein levels. The Smart Body Scale calculates 12 factors, which provides you with a more detailed assessment of your weight, allowing to better understand your health.
