What is the Push Med wrist splint?

The Wrist Splint by Push Med has been designed to allow the wrist joint to heal, without restricting the functionality of the hand.

The wrist brace & wrist splint for carpal tunnel offers optimal protection, compression and support for painful, swollen or weak wrists.

The Push Med Wrist Splint can be easily fitted with one hand and comes with an easy to apply non-elastic elastic band to optimise compression.

What are the characteristics of the Push Med Wrist Splint?

The Push Med Wrist Splint gives maximum protection and support to the wrist joint with free movement of the hand. A non-elastic band ensures the wrist splint closely follows the wrist joint. It extends from the palm of the hand to high in the wrist for optimal stabilisation.

This design of the Push Med carpal tunnel wrist splint limits palmar flexion while keeping the hand in a functional position.

The Wrist Splint by Push Med or wrist splint for fracture is made with padded zones around the vulnerable areas of the wrist. Compression levels can be adjusted to fit your needs thanks to an easy to apply band.

The wrist brace or wrist splint for carpal tunnel is made from Sympress material, which makes the inside feel soft and comfortable, whilst keeping the skin dry.

What are the indications of use of the wrist splint by Push Med?

The wrist splint by Push Med is especially suited for the treatment of:

  • Strained or sprained wrist injuries, complaints of the wrist extensors
  • Moderate to serious rheumatoid arthritis conditions
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Tendonitis of the wrist
  • Soreness from repetitive strain injuries (RSI) or overuse symptoms

This splint for wrist brace can also be used for:

  • Post fracture
  • Post surgical recovery

It provides the right combination of immobilisation and support to allow the healing process of the wrist.

Washing instructions for the wrist splint

Make sure to close the Velcro, before washing the Push Med Wrist Splint. The Wrist Splint brace can be washed at up to 30°C, on a delicate cycle in the washing machine or by hand. Do not use any bleaching agents. Just use a gentle spin-dry cycle: after this, hang the wrist splint up to dry in the open air.

To extend the wrist splint's life, make sure to dry the brace after use, before being stored.

What is a wrist splint used for?

A wrist splint is used to immobilize and support the wrist, reducing pain and promoting healing after injuries like sprains, fractures, or conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome.

Why would you wear a wrist splint?

You would wear a wrist splint to relieve pressure, reduce swelling, stabilize the wrist joint, and prevent further strain or injury.

What is the difference between a wrist brace and a splint?

A wrist brace provides light support and flexibility for mild injuries, while a wrist splint offers more rigid support, limiting movement to ensure proper healing.

How many hours should I wear a wrist splint?

You should wear a wrist splint as advised by your doctor, typically 4 to 8 hours a day or as needed, depending on your condition.

Is it OK to sleep with a wrist splint?

Yes, sleeping with a wrist splint is often recommended for conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome to prevent wrist bending and alleviate symptoms.

What is the difference between a splint and a cast?

A splint is flexible and can be adjusted, used for stabilizing injuries, while a cast is rigid, fully encasing the injured area for complete immobilization.

Can you walk on a splint?

If the splint is for a lower limb, walking is possible but may require additional support like crutches. Always follow your doctor’s guidance.

Can I remove my splint to shower?

Yes, most splints can be removed for showering, but always confirm with your doctor to avoid disrupting the healing process.

Is cast better than surgery?

A cast is a less invasive option for treatment, but surgery may be necessary for severe or complex injuries. The best option depends on the specific injury and individual condition.
