- Hold your breath for as long as possible
- Remove the mouthpiece, relax and exhale
- Repeat the process

If the first AND second ball are kept afloat, the inhalation volume is 900 ml/sec.
If all 3 balls are kept at the top of the columns, the inspired volume is approximately 1200 ml/sec.
