The Physio Tens Analogue is an effective medical device that reduces chronic and subacute pain in a drug-free and non-invasive way. At the same time, it increases blood circulation for natural healing.

What is TENS?

TENS is the abbreviation of ‘Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation’. In TENS therapy, a small, hand-held, battery-operated unit delivers a low-voltage electrical current through the skin via electrodes placed around the source of pain. The impulses from the electrodes stimulate nerves in the affected area and send signals to the brain that ‘interferes’ with normal pain sensation. A Tens machine can be beneficial as a muscle stimulator, nerve stimulator and electrical massager. It has been prescribed by doctors and used by physiotherapists for over 40 years.

It is mostly used to alleviate pain as a result of: arthritis, sciatica, shoulder pain, knee/foot/leg pain, lower back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, whiplash, tennis elbow, diabetic neuropathy.

The electrotherapy unit is not suitable for patients :

  • using medical devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators etc
  • pregnant women
  • patients with heart diseases or epilepsy

Bettercaremarket recommends you to consult your healthcare professional before undergoing Tens treatment.

How to use the Physio TENS Analogue?

The portable Physio Tens Analogue has controls that allow managing the level of pain relief. The user can do that by adjusting the following aspects of the electrical current:

  • Via pulse intensity: offers 3 contrasting stimulation modes – burst, normal or modulation stimulation
  • Via pulse duration: that is the length of time that the pulse enters the skin during each pulse. It may vary from 40 to 200 microseconds (ms).
  • Via pulse frequency: the frequency refers to the number of electrical pulses per second are applied– from 2 to 150 Hz.

Dual Channel means that there are two channels, giving the user the choice to insert 2 electrodes in 1 channel or 4 electrodes in both channels simultaneously for targeted pain relief. You would use one channel (2 electrodes) for smaller targeted area’s.

It also has an accurate timer of 15, 30 minutes or ‘continuous’ and will stop output at preset time.

The Physio Tens Analogue will provide you with immediate and lasting pain relief!
